Potential analysis and feasibility study

NP offers an initial step in determining technical, economic and environmental viability of the project.

Potential analysis and feasibility study combine site visits, consultation and discussion on relevant topics. Potential analysis and feasibility study include;

  • Data gathering such as production process, capacity, production statistics, energy sources and consumption, existing waste and wastewater management etc,.
  • Sampling/analysis of waste and/or wastewater
  • Biodegradation test on biogas potential derived from waste/wastewater
  • Ideal location for biogas plant
  • Economic and environmental analysis
  • Future plan
  • Other related information

Conceptual and detail design, project planning

NP provides conceptual and detail design ranging from small to large scale biogas plants with agro-industrial waste, food waste and livestock waste into renewable energy.

Biogas system mainly consists of 3 units, waste/wastewater collection, transportation and utilization. The following parameters are taken into consideration in designing a biogas plant;

  • Quantity of wastewater
  • Chemical and physical characteristics
  • Biodegradability
  • Existing wastewater treatment/management unit

  • Space availability
  • Budget availability
  • Distance from factory to expected AD location
  • Energy utilization

Supervision of construction, system testing and start up

Construction supervision and quality control

NP provide you with professional construction supervision that guide your project to completion on schedule, on budget and conform to relevant quality standard. This is to ensure that materials, equipment and systems are function well and good quality. Most importantly, to ensure that construction and installation comply with the design.

System testing

To ensure that construction and installation comply with the design, testing of biogas system is a must. Construction completion test and performance tests will be performed on-site to verify the functionality of equipment and system prior the operation. Water is pumped into the system to test the consistency of water distribution, water flow direction, leakage and functionality of equipment (pump, valve, piping system, etc.,).

Start – up

Biological start of a biogas plant is planned and carry out by NP which can last up to 3 months depends on seed sludge quality and anaerobic digester operations. Due to sensitivity of microorganisms and slowly growing of methanogens to populate, the feeding rate should not exceed 10 % of designing capacity and continuously. As activity of bacteria starts immediately when raw wastewater enters the reactor, biogas production increases gradually and continuously increase until reaching the steady stage. Subsequently, increasing the feeding rate into the reactor till it reaches the maximum capacity.

Follow up and monitoring

Anaerobic digestion process is sensitive to the change of various environmental conditions NP therefore offers 6 months’ process monitoring after full operation. The aim is to evaluate digester performance for a proper functioning, maximize process efficiency and prevent process from failure.

Turnkey and maintenance services

NP offers turnkey services including survey, engineering design, construction and installation, start-up and monitoring.

Repowering technical and biological

NP offers client both technical and biological advice and/or solution on how to improve performance of biogas system, to achieve their maximum capacity. The scope of repowering technical and biological includes site visit, site condition evaluation and recommend technical and biological solution for better performance and higher efficiency.
